Mountain West BFA Actor Showcase: 2019
The seniors in the Acting program at Utah State University are about to launch their careers!
Hello all, and thank you for stopping by our page! The senior cohort in the Acting program at Utah State University is raising money to attend The Mountain West Actor Showcase on March 11, 2019. This showcase will be our launching point into the professional world. Every year casting directors, agents, managers, and other industry professionals are invited to our showcase. Through this showcase, Utah State Alumni have made connections around the United States. Many have found work in regional theatres across the country.
Some are living in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago pursuing their dreams on stage and in film. Multiple students have booked agents and managers through this showcase which help guarantee them future work. This is the fifth year students from Utah State will be traveling to New York, and each year the success of the showcase has grown exponentially. The expected total cost for this trip is around $20,000 for eight students. We are in the process of raising money by selling concessions at USU theater shows and performing in cabarets.
We have also applied for several sources of university funding. With the holiday season in full bloom, we wanted to give our friends and family an easy way to donate to our project. Any donations will go toward headshots, printing and distribution costs, travel to and from New York City, hotel rooms, and the rental of the theatre, accompanist, and piano for our performances. If we are lucky enough to raise money beyond the essentials, any extra fundraising will go toward the further artistic education of the actors. Some students have never been to New York and would like to take this opportunity to indulge in the history of the city. Others are planning to attend advanced classes to get a taste of what will be available after graduation. Most would like to see at least one Broadway show while they are in such a brilliant theatre hub.Thank you in advance for any donation. No amount is too small. If you are unable to contribute in this way, please share the link to our campaign. You can also support us by purchasing concessions at any Utah State Theatre production, or by attending the Last Chance Cabaret in early February. Thank you again! The SeniorsAnna Bodily, Eliza Shoell, Rachael Hodge, Mitch Shira, Dane Braddy, Noah Gentry, Travis Charron, and Tyler Campbell
